The Monaco Art Week (MAW) association was born out of a desire to bring together galleries, art spaces, auction houses and institutions to promote and enhance the Principality’s artistic offering.
The participants join forces to celebrate an artistic week and invite the public – collectors, professionals and art lovers – to come together for a wide range of cultural activities, openings, private visits, performances and conferences.
A rich and varied artistic offering
The originality of the MAW circuit lies in the dialogue between the different periods of art: classical, modern and contemporary. These cultural encounters are an opportunity for synergy and exchange, creating a network between the various players on the art scene and an ever-growing public.
Making cultural offerings
more accessible
Creating a sense of community
One of the founding wishes of the association is to register the event as a strong artistic event, with attention paid to cultural mediation. Each edition of MAW is accompanied by a round-table discussion on a topical issue linked to the changing art world, led by internationally renowned speakers.
Promoting the local art scene at a key time
The first edition was launched in spring 2018 in collaboration with the Art Monte-Carlo fair.
After being repeated in spring 2019, the event moved to July to coincide with the Grimaldi Forum’s summer exhibition. From 2021 to 2025, it offered an artistic journey enriched by events that further animated an already vibrant cultural program.
In 2026, MAW will return to its spring format for its eighth edition.
