EXHIBITIONView and landscape of Italy

The period of the nineteenth century is characterized by travels throughout Europe, which are much easier than in the previous century. Italy becomes the unavoidable destination for foreign painters. Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples and their surroundings are greatly frequented by artists from all over Europe, as evidenced by their innumerable travel diaries. There are many paintings with the subject of Italian’s views and landscapes, which are well known all over Europe but also overseas. For an Italian gallery located abroad, it seemed quite natural to present a sample of these works, which are the testimony of the artistic development of that time.
